Un Parotta, est de la famille du pain couches plates du sud de l’Inde. Il ne doit pas être confondu avec le Paratha du nord de l’Inde. Les Parottas sont généralement disponibles dans les hôtels et commerces en bordure de route à travers le Tamil Nadu, le Kerala et le Karnataka. Il est également servi aux célébrations de mariage et de fêtes religieuses. Il est préparé avec en maîtrisant le mélange dans des couches minces et plus tard former un pain rond avec des couches minces.
Habituellement, les Parottas sont savouré avec des légumes et oignons Kuruma Raita (En cas de restaurants Légumes) et le poulet, mouton ou bœuf saalna et une sauce piquante dans certains restaurants. D’autres variantes sont parottas porotta Kerala, Chili Parotha, parotta Coin, parotta Veechu et parotta Kothu.
Les Parotta sont plus populaires dans la partie sud de l’Inde. La plupart des parottas sont frits. Ils sont disponibles dans la partie sud de Tamil Nadu, principalement à Madurai et les environs.
Les Parottas accommodent bien avec la sauce connue sous le nom Salna. Les plats de poulet sont privilégiées avec les parottas.
